Lakewood, N.J.- On a day volleyball celebrated "Dig Pink" in recognition of those that have survived or been affected by breast cancer, Georgian Court University secured its seventh consecutive CACC victory to improve to 8-1 in conference play (10-9 overall) after cruising to a 3-0 victory over visiting Chestnut Hill College Tuesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center.
With both teams wearing pink jerseys, the Lions dismissed the Griffins (6-14, 4-5 CACC) by the score of 25-17, 25-23, 25-11. GCU compiled an attack average of .234 while Chestnut Hill mustered an average of .042 collectively.
Jhoan Agosto Rivera was Georgian Court's offensive star of the night as she clubbed 10 kills (zero errors) on 18 attempts (.556).
Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez led all players with 14 kills while
Anabelle Barinas blasted 12 of her own.
For the third straight game,
Francheska Cedres compiled over 20 digs (21).
Gabriela Berrios-Hernandez contributed 12 digs while
Jennifer Smith registered a season-high 10.
Jaslene Lopez posted her eighth game of the year with 40 or more assists (40).
Three Griffins charted a team-high four kills in the defeat.
Emily Drew (Fr.-Ringoes, N.J.) topped Chestnut Hill with 18 assists while
Regina Trabosh (Fr.-Norristown, Pa.) did the same with her 16 digs.
Georgian Court next travels to Felician College with a Saturday morning (11:00 a.m.) CACC contest.
