Women's Soccer Settles for 3-3 Tie at Bloomfield College

Tayler Bramley
Bloomfield, N.J.- Georgian Court University visited Bloomfield College Saturday morning as the Lions and the host-Lady Deacons settled for a 3-3 tie in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action.

Bloomfield (0-3-1, 0-0-1 CACC) took an immediate 1-0 advantage when Taylor Chianese (Fr.-Cheapachet, R.I.) drilled home a Sammy Bucknell (Fr.-Acushnet, Mass.) pass across the box just 1:46 into the match. GCU's Tayler Bramley tied the affair at 1-1 when she knocked in a rebound for her first goal of the year at 39:56.

Christina Vincentini (Jr.-Lacey Township, N.J.) returned the lead to the Lady Deacons when she sent in a successful penalty kick at 56:17. A little over ten minutes later (66:35), Taylor Mize knotted the score at 2-2 when she blasted home a Taylor Reinecke cross.

Just over a minute later, it looked as if the Lions (1-0-1, 1-0-1 CACC) would escape with a triumph as Morgan Peacock gave the road team a 3-2 lead with her first goal of the year at 67:46. However, Bloomfield answered swiftly when Chianese netted her second tally of the contest, this time a header off a Mikie Bradley (Sr.-Jackson, N.J.) free kick, at 69:26.

GCU dominated in the shots column, leading Bloomfield, 27-16, and 10-0 in corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Casey O'Connor permitted three goals and collected six saves in 110:00. Sashagay Spence (Sr.-St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) also allowed three goals in 110:00 while tallying ten saves.

The Lions look to rebound Sunday afternoon with a non-conference match at Queens College. Start time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
