Flushing, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer club concluded its first week of the 2013 campaign Sunday afternoon with a 1-0, non-conference defeat at Queens College.

The Knights (3-1) shut down the Lions' offensive attack, as GCU managed just three shots on the day, including one lone attempt on goal. Lorena Russi (Sr.-Rego Park, N.Y.) provided the game-winning tally for Queens, an unassisted goal at 40:16.

Queens netminder Mersina Onesto (Jr/-Rockville Centre, N.Y.) collected her third 1-0 shutout of the young season, collecting one save in the effort. GCU's Casey O'Connor compiled two saves in net for the Lions.

Georgian Court returns to conference play Tuesday afternoon witha 4:30 p.m. contest at Philadelphia University Tuesday afternoon.
