East Stroudsburg, Pa.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad suffered a 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 16-25, 22-25) defeat to Le Moyne College Friday afternoon on Day One of the East Stroudsburg University Invitational.
The Lions drop to 0-1 to start the 2013 campaign while the Dolphins improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Madison Snow (Sr.-Huntington Beach, Calif.) led Le Moyne's offensive threat with a double-double, which included 11 digs and a match-high 17 kills. Teammate
Andrea Buchanan (Fr.-Hamburg, N.Y.) also provided a double-double with 14 kills and a game-high 19 digs.
Kristen Willets (Jr.-Apalachin, N.Y.) garnered 10 digs in the victory.
Megan Maisonet (Jr.-Pine Bush, N.Y.) enjoyed the third double-double of the contest for the Dolphins with a match-high 41 assists, to go along with 15 digs, while
Natalie Casson (Fr.-Kingman, Ariz.) controlled 12 digs in the effort.
Gabriela Berrios-Hernandez registered a double-double for the Lions with her 13 digs and team-leading 12 kills.
Anabelle Barinas and
Jhoan Agosto Rivera each tallied 10 kills apiece in the contest.
Jaslene Lopez topped the squad with her 38 assists while
Francheska Cedres and
Dara Schroeder compiled 17 and 12 digs, respectively.
GCU takes the court again Saturday afternoon at the ESU Invite with matches vs. Mercy College (12:30 p.m.) and the host-Warriors (7:00 p.m.).
