Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad made it three wins in a row Wednesday evening with a 3-1 (25-12, 25-22, 9-25, 25-23) non-conference home triumph vs. visiting Queens College in the GCU Wellness Center.
The Lions inch closer to the .500 mark at 6-9 while the Knights slip to 5-6.
Anabelle Barinas (Sr.-Newark, N.J.) dominated the offensive front for the victorious Lions with a contribution that included 17 kills, 10 digs, and an impressive five service aces.
Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez (Sr.-Rio Grande, P.R.) tied her teammate with 17 kills while
Kelsey Oliver (So.-Vancouver, Wash.) came within one dig of a double-double (42 assists, 9 digs).
Francheska Cedres (Gr.-Carolina, P.R.) and
Dara Schroeder (Sr.-Bordentown, N.J.) each tallied a team-best 12 digs in the effort.
Francesca Indoni (Sr.-Rome, Italy) bested her club with 12 kills, followed by 11 apiece from
Tori Bowser (So.-Pelham, N.Y.) and
Arielle DiCocco (Jr.-Blue Port, N.Y.). Kristen Moore (Fr.-Medford, N.Y.) dished 17 assists with
Taylor Garrett (Jr.-Lynbrook. N.Y.) sharing 16 of her own. Libero
Xhesi Domi (Jr.-Selden, N.Y.) controlled a game-high 19 digs for the Knights.
GCU now prepares for a rematch of the 2013 CACC title game as the Lions travel to Philadelphia University this Friday at 6:00 p.m.
