Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University men's soccer squad battled Philadelphia University Tuesday afternoon on Investors Savings Bank Field, as the Lions suffered a 3-2 defeat to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)-rival Rams.
Georgian Court has now dropped five straight decisions and sees its record dip to 3-8-2 (3-4-1 CACC) while the second-place Rams climb to 9-3-1 (5-2-1 CACC).
Zach Brown (Jr.-Bowie, Md.) put Philadelphia on the board first at 19:05 when he one-timed a
Seiji Rose (Fr.-Toulouse, France) corner kick for his first goal of the year. Exactly nine minutes later (28:05),
Eddy Glover (Jr.-Oxford, UK) evened the score at 1-1 when he drilled his second penalty kick tally this season.
Chris Kulczytzky (Jr.-Newtown, Pa.) provided the Rams with a late first-half lead as he deposited
Armando Canela's (So.-Marlborough, Mass.) free kick with 2:22 (42:38) remaining before intermission. The Lions countered 1:58 into the second session when
Jordan Eugenis (So.-Wayside, N.J.) scorched a goal (third of the year) after drilling a poor clear by the Philly defense.
The scoreline would remain 2-2 until Dominic Rodriguez (Jr.-Pennsauken, N.J.) snapped the stalemate at 74:11 with the game-winner (5th goal of the year).
Thomas Attamante (Sr.-West Orange, N.J.) was credited with the victory in the Rams' net even without making a save. GCU's
Rylan Gentil (Sr.-Poseyville, Ind.) collected five saves in the tough-luck defeat. Â
The Rams owned a 16-7 shot advantage and an 8-5 lead in corner kicks.
