Lakewood, N.J.-The Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad snapped a three-way tie atop the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division standings Friday evening as the Lions dismissed visiting Holy Family University, 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 26-24, 25-11),in the GCU Wellness Center.
Entering action, GCU, Holy Family, and Wilmington University each owned a 9-3 record against conference foes. The Lions improve to 14-12 (10-3 CACC) on the year while the Tigers tumble to 11-13 overall (9-4 CACC). Wilmington shut out Nyack College, 3-0, to match Georgian Court identically in the standings at 14-12 overall and 10-3 in conference.
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez (Sr.-Rio Grande, P.R.), the reigning CACC Player of the Week, led all players with her 13 kills while
Anabelle Barinas (Sr.-Newark, N.J.) and
Jennifer Smith (So.-Redlands, Calif.) smashed 10 apiece.
Kelsey Oliver (So.-Vancouver, Wash.) earned her team-leading seventh double-double of the year with 33 assists and 11 digs.
Francheska Cedres (Sr.-Carolina, P.R.) topped everyone with 18 digs.
Emma Herring (Jr.-Newtown, Conn.) nailed a team-best eight digs.
Devyn Ingram (Sr.-King of Prussia, Pa.) came within a dig (nine total) of a double-double with 24 assists. Her sister,
Melanie Ingram (Fr.-King of Prussia, Pa.), matched teammate
Laura Tamas (So.-Rhode-St-Genese, Belgium) with 12 digs each while
Rachel Johnson (Jr.-New Lenox, Ill.) added 10.
