Waterbury, Conn.- A day after securing a key divisional victory at Philadelphia University, the Georgian Court University volleyball squad traveled north to the Nutmeg State Saturday afternoon where they lost a five-set showdown at Post University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
The Lions (7-10, 3-3 CACC) won the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22 before falling short to the Eagles (8-7, 4-2 CACC) in each of the next three stanzas (13-25, 18-25, 7-15).
Emily Wilman (Sr.-Perth Amboy, N.J.) led the charge for Post with her double-double effort of 12 kills and 10 digs over five sets.
Skylar German (So.-Kansas City, Mo.) led all players with 14 kills.
Janielee Alvarez (Jr.-Norwich, Conn.) set the standard with 13 digs while
Julia Slyaktina (Sr.-Moscow, Russia) did the same with 39 assists.
Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez (Sr.-Rio Grande, P.R.) put down a GCU-high 11 kills in the setback while teammate
Francheska Cedres (Gr.-Carolina, P.R.) equalled that total in the digs column.
Kelsey Oliver (So.-Vancouver, Wash.) contributed 32 assists.
Georgian Court heads down to the University of the Sciences for its next contest Wednesday evening. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
