Lions Volleyball Back on Track with 3-1 Conference Win at USciences

Philadelphia, Pa.- The Georgian Court University women's volleyball team rebounded nicely from a disappointing five-set defeat over the weekend at Post University with a 3-1 triumph Wednesday night at division-rival University of the Sciences in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

The Lions (8-10, 4-3 CACC) dropped the first set, 25-21, before sweeping the next three from the Devils (1-9, 0-7 CACC) by scores of 25-17, 25-18, and a thrilling 28-26 in set three.

Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez (Sr.-Rio Grande, P.R.) and Jhoan Agosto Rivera (Sr.-Carolina, P.R.) dominated above the net as the duo led GCU with 14 and 13 kills, respecitvely. Jennifer Smith (So.-Redlands, Calif.) registered her first double-double of the year with 10 kills and 16 digs. Kelsey Oliver (So.-Vancouver, Wash.) earned her fourth such feat of the season with 43 assists and 11 digs. Francheska Cedres (Gr.-Carolina, P.R.) led all players with 24 digs while Taylor Winchester (Jr.-Hesperia, Calif.) added 12 of her own.

Caitlyn Crawford (Jr.-Covington, Ohio) carried the Devils' offense with a team-best 17 kills while Elizabeth Eaton (So.-Wyoming, Pa.) distributed 17 assists. Christine Irrera (So.-Royersford, Pa.) settled 18 digs. Nicole Rivera (Jr.-Pittsford, N.Y.) and Kaileen Bevenour (Sr.-Sicklerville, N.J.) contributed 16 and 12 digs, respectively.

Georgian Court returns home for another crucial divisional match this Friday when they host Philadelphia University at 6:00 p.m. in the Wellness Center.
