Georgian Court Honors Its Seniors Prior to Home Finale vs. USciences

Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad honored its senior class Wednesday evening prior to its regular season home finale vs. University of the Sciences, a match the visiting Devils won, 3-1.

Anabelle Barinas, Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez, Jhoan Agosto Rivera, Francheska Cedres, and Dara Schroeder were recognized for their outstanding achievements over their four years with GCU, which includes the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship banner.

USciences (8-15, 5-13 CACC), winners of six straight, put a quick end to the pregame pomp and circumstance by upseting the first-place Lions, 3-1 ( 25-18, 25-19, 28-30, 25-22), marking the first win for the Devils at Georgian Court since way back on September 28, 2003.

Amanda DeAngelo led the way for the Devils with her double-double performance of 13 kills and 12 digs. Caitlyn Crawford followed with a game-high 15 kills while Kaileen Bevenour dished 40 assists. Hannah Boulaiche and Nicole Rivera also collected 12 digs apiece.

Jennifer Smith registered her second double-double of the season for GCU with 10 kills and 12 digs. Rivera drilled a team-best 11 kills while Rodriguez tallied 10. Kelsey Oliver distributed 41 assists. Cedres led the club with 20 digs while Taylor Winchester gathered 10.

GCU (18-13, 14-4 CACC) closes out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a CACC road contest at Dominican College.
