GCU Volleyball Clinches Top Seed in Upcoming CACC Tourney ... Draws Bloomfield College in First Round

Orangeburg, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad concluded the regular-season portion of its schedule with a 3-0 Saturday shutout of Dominican College, setting the stage for this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament.

GCU defeated the Lady Chargers (16-8, 12-7 CACC) in straight sets (25-23, 25-17, 25-22).

Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez led the way for the Lions' offense with her 13 kills while teammate Jennifer Smith put down 10 of her own. Kelsey Oliver dished 38 assists and Francheska Cedres collected a team-high nine digs.

McKenzie John smashed a match-high 20 kills for Dominican while teammates Kera Dexter and Amanda Hallstein distributed 17 and 10 assists, respectively.

With the victory, the Lions (19-13, 15-4 CACC) clinched first place in the CACC South Division while securing the #1 overall seed in the tournament. GCU, the defending conference champions, will host Bloomfield College (15-14, 11-8 CACC), the #4 seed in the North Division, Tuesday evening in the quarterfinals. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in the Wellness Center.

Georgian Court defeated the Bears, 3-1 (24-26, 25-13, 25-21, 25-23), at home back on September 27 in the teams' only match-up this season.
