USciences Secures CACC Divisional Victory Over Georgian Court, 90-74

Philadelphia, Pa.- In Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division competition, host-University of the Sciences scored a season-high 90 points as the second-place Devils eased past Georgian Court University, 90-74, Saturday afternoon.

Second-place USciences improves to 9-3 (4-1 CACC) while the Lions slip to 2-10 overall (0-6 CACC).

The Devils dashed out to a 20-8 advantage 6:30 into the game. GCU developed a syncretic form of offense by going on a 12-5 run to cut the deficit to 25-20 with 9:02 remaining in the half. USciences quickly dashed any hopes of a Georgian Court comeback as the home team outscored the Lions, 28-11, over the remaining minutes as the Devils entered intermission ahead, 53-31.

After creating a game-high 30-point lead of 87-57 with 5:09 left on the clock, GCU fought to the very end and rattled off a noble run of 17-3 to conclude the contest.

Two-time CACC Player of the Year Garret Kerr (Moorestown, N.J.) put his offensive prowess on grand display as the senior executed a triple-double for USciences, tallying 26 points, 12 boards, and 10 assists in the win.

Keith Hughes (So.-Woodbridge, N.J.) registered his second double-double of the season for the Lions with 16 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes. Juwuan Carter (Fr.-Paterson, N.J.) topped GCU with his 17 points while Jalen Robinson (So.-Bowie, Md.) contributed 10 points in 18 minutes off the Georgian Court bench.

The Lions look to decompress during the upcoming Christmas break, staying away from the hardwood until Saturday, January 3 with a 3:00 p.m. conference home game vs. Concordia College.
