Women's Soccer Stands Strong in 1-0 Setback to #11 Bridgeport

Lakewood, N.J.-Seeking the first 4-0 start in the NCAA Division II era of Georgian Court University women's soccer, the Lions hosted a difficult foe in #11 University of Bridgeport Monday afternoon on Investors Savings Bank Field.

The Lions provided to be a formidable opponent for the nationally-ranked Purple Knights, but the visitors were able to hold off GCU, 1-0, to escape with the non-conference road victory.

Georgian Court (3-1) and Bridgeport (3-0-1)  played a scoreless first half of action. Nicole Greenwald (Fr.-Levittown, N.Y.) provided the assist on Weinegrad's first career collegiate tally.

Bridgeport domintated the shot column, 19-7, but the Lions totalled three more corner kicks (5-2) than the Purple Knights.
