WILMINGTON, Del. – Freshman forward Omar Hernandez (Avon Grove H.S./West Grove, Pa.) headed in the game-winning goal with 6:46 remaining in regulation as Goldey-Beacom College (5-4-0, 4-1-0) rallied to earn a 4-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Georgian Court University (3-4-2, 3-1-1) at the Lightning's Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Hernandez took a pass from senior forward Luiz Ristow (Joinville, Brazil) from the right side and headed in his second goal to score the eventual game-winning goal. It was his second goal of the match and third goal of the season.

Less than three minutes into the match, the Lions took a 1-0 lead when senior midfielder Ben Vergara (Toms River, N.J.) scored his seventh goal of the season off a throw-in pass from sophomore forward Michael Clarke (Essex, England).

In the 17th minute, Ristow tied the match at 1-1 when he scored on a shot from 20 yards after receiving a pass from freshman midfielder Artur Zvinchuk (Bonn, Germany). But, Clarke regained the Lions' one-goal edge in the 24th minute he tallied his team-high eighth goal of the season off a rebound of a shot by sophomore midfielder Sebastian Gostynski (St. Charles North H.S./Garfield, N.J.).

With 14:30 remaining in the first half, Hernandez tied the match at 2-2 when he scored on a header after passes from Zvinchuk and freshman forward Fernando Sanchez (Madrid, Spain).

Ristow gave the Lightning its first lead of the match just five minutes later with his seventh goal of the season off a through pass from Hernandez before the Lions tied the match at 3-3 with 3:09 left in the opening stanza on a goal by sophomore defender Jordan Eugenis (Ocean Township H.S./Wayside, N.J.).

Freshman goalkeeper Marcus Arrvidsson (Taby, Sweden) made one save for the Lightning, who outshot Georgian Court by a 17-12 margin.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sebastian Mikuska (Augsburg, Germany) posted six saves for the Lions in the loss.

The defeat snaps the Lions' season-best three-game winning streak. GCU looks to revisit its winning ways this Thursday evening with a 7:00 p.m. CACC contest at Bloomfield College.
