Philadelphia, Pa.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer team remains unbeaten in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play as the Lions locked horns with the Lady Rams Wednesday afternoon, escaping Philadelphia University with a hard-earned 0-0, double overtime tie.
The stalemate gives GCU an 8-0-1 mark in conference action (11-2-2 overall) while the Lady Rams go to 5-4-1 in CACC play (6-8-1 overall).
Georgian Court owned a healthy 22-14 shot advantage, led by the CACC's leading goal scorer,
Lizzy Kroon (nine shots, five shots-on-goal). Both squads attempted eight corner kicks apiece.
Goalkeeper
Casey O'Connor tallied her conference-leading ninth shutout of the campaign for the Lions, collecting ten saves in 110:00. Her counterpart,
Courtney Shaw (Sr.-Langhorne, Pa.), equaled O'Connor with ten saves of her own in the complete-game effort.
Coincidentally, GCU's last scoreless tie came on this exact date in 2014 when the Lions and Queens College went the max without securing a tally.
The Lions return to conference play this Saturday afternoon when they host Post University in a mighty CACC showdown. Start time is set for noon.
