Lakewood, N.J.- After dropping the first set, the Georgian Court University volleyball squad rallied back for a 3-1 victory over visiting Holy Family University Wednesday evening as the Lions and Tigers also joined the fight against cancer and celebrated Dig Pink Night in the process.
HFU snagged the first game by a score of 25-18 before GCU roared back with wins of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-21. The Lions increased their overall record to 14-11 (8-4 CACC) while the Tigers fall to 7-16 (6-6 CACC), surrendering their four-game winning streak in the process.
Three Lions smashed a team-best nine kills apiece, including
Kelsie Blue,
Peggy Rosario (12 digs), and
Taylor Winchester (10 digs).
Kelsey Oliver distributed 34 assists while
Nerishka Cruz De La Rosa controlled 22 digs and blasted four service aces.
GCU will next take on Dominican College (11:00 a.m.) and Bowie State University (3:00 p.m.) this Saturday as the Lions host a tri-match in the Wellness Center Arena.
