Lakewood, N.J.-The Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad extended its current winning streak to five straight as the Lions dismissed both Dominican College and Bowie State University, 3-0, in a pair of matches Saturday in the GCU Wellness Center.
The home team opened the day by coasting past the Lady Chargers (25-22, 25-14, 25-22) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. GCU followed that victory by making quick work of the Bulldogs from Bowie State (25-6, 25-11, 25-20).
Taylor Winchester headlined the Georgian Court offense in its opening win vs. Dominican (4-21, 4-9 CACC), collecting her sixth double-double of the season with 13 digs and 12 kills.
Kelsey Oliver registered 32 assists while
Nerishka Cruz De La Rosa topped all players with her 19 digs.
GCU emptied its bench in the nightcap vs. Bowie State (6-18) as 13 total players saw action for the Lions in the win.
Jessica Sipili led Georgian Court with eight total kills. Oliver delivered 35 more assists in this match while Cruz De La Rosa and
Jessica Pedroza contributed 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
The Lions (16-11, 9-4 CACC) take to the road for their next three contests starting with a 6:00 pm match this Tuesday evening at Queens College.
