Philadelphia, Pa.- For the first time since Chestnut Hill College's inception into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in 2007, the Georgian Court University volleyball squad found itself on the losing end to the Griffins, 3-2, in a marathon match of 2:15.
After the Lions jumped ahead with victories of 25-23 and 25-22, the Griffins roared back with set wins of 25-20, 25-12, and 15-13 to secure the milestone triumph and snap their 0-for-16 losing streak vs. Georgian Court.
The setback knocks GCU's record to 8-10 overall (4-3 CACC) while Chestnut Hill improves to 6-14 (5-2 CACC).
Kelsie Blue soared for the Lions in the defeat, topping the club with 13 kills and 8 combined blocks.
Melanee Coleman drilled 10 kills for GCU while
Kelsey Oliver registered a double-double with 37 assists and 19 digs.
Taylor Winchester fell one kill short of her own double-double (9 kills, 22 digs) while

Things do not easier for the Lions as they host defending CACC champion, Post University, as well as Pace University, this Saturday in a home tri-match. GCU will take on Post at 11:00 a.m. to kick off the action-packed day.
