Bloomfield, N.J.- The 2015 volleyball season came to a close Tuesday evening as Georgian Court University suffered a 3-0 defeat at Bloomfield College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) quarterfinals.
In a high-action affair, the Bears, playing as the #2 seed in the North Division, swept the Lions (#3 South) in three competitive sets: 25-22, 25-20, 25-22. Bloomfield now moves on to play Philadelphia University (#1 South) Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. That match follows the Post University (#1 North) vs. Wilmington University (#2 South) contest, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Both will be played in GCU's Wellness Center Arena.
The GCU attack was evenly distributed as senior
Taylor Winchester, in her final collegiate match, drilled a team-best nine kills.
Kelsie Blue,
Melanee Coleman, and
Peggy Rosario drilled eight apiece. Rosario also collected 13 digs in the effort while
Kelsey Oliver dished 26 assists, tying for the game-high.
Georgian Court ends the campaign with a 20-15 overall mark while the Bears improve to 23-5 on the year.
