Wilmington, Del.- On a day that was over before it started, the Georgian Court University men's basketball squad suffered its worst defeat of the year Saturday, an 85-51 drubbing at Goldey-Beacom College in CACC divisional competition.

The host-Lightning (3-7, 2-2 CACC) controlled the outcome from the opening tip as GBC led by as many as 28 points (39-11) with 4:58 remaining before the break. After coming out of intermission with a  lead of 44-19, the second stanza was an afterthought for Goldey-Beacom as the home team reached a highwater mark of 36 points at one point.

The Lightning's Sameen Swint (Jr.-Sicklerville, N.J.) headlined the boxscore with his game-high 18 points. Shakeem Wilson (Jr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) followed with 17 points while Corey Taite (Fr.-Sayreville, N.J.) contributed 14 points and five assists.

Georgian Court had to leave it to Beaver as Dillon Beaver topped the Lions with 15 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Michael Pierre collected nine points in 28 minutes.

The Lions will next lace up the sneakers Friday night when they host the University of New Haven in the Wellness Center at 6:00 p.m.
