Philadelphia, Pa.- Playing its first Central Atantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match of the 2015 campaign, the Georgian Court University volleyball squad escaped the City of Brotherly Love with a key 3-0 blanking of divisional-foe Holy Family University Thursday evening.
The Lions (5-5, 1-0 CACC) swiped three tightly-contested sets by the scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23. The Tigers, losers of eight straight, fall to 1-8 on the year (0-2 CACC).
Jessica Pedroza and
Peggy Rosario topped GCU with seven kills apiece while Pedroza also added 14 digs.
Kelsey Oliver dished a team-best 18 digs while
Nerishka Cruz De La Rosa provided a game-high 19 digs.
Having played their last six matches on the road, Georgian Court finally returns to the Wellness Center this Saturday with a tri-match vs. Nyack College (11:00 a.m.) and West Chester University (3:00 p.m.).
