Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad, playing its first home matches in two weeks, hosted fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member, Nyack College, and West Chester University Saturday in the Wellness Center.
The Lions improved to 2-0 in conference play (6-6 overall) with a 3-0 blanking of the Warriors before the undefeated Golden Rams (11-0) took down the home team, 3-0, in the nightcap of the tri-match.
GCU made quick work of Nyack (1-9, 0-2 CACC) in the opener with victories of 25-12, 25-22, and 25-14 in the straight-set triumph.
Peggy Rosario topped the Lions' offensive threat with nine kills while
Kelsey Oliver dished a game-high 23 assists.
Nerishka Cruz De La Rosa surpassed all players with her 20 digs.
West Chester, after also defeating the Warriors, 3-0, in the middle match, remained perfect on the season with wins of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-15 vs. Georgian Court.
Kelsie Blue's six kills led the way for GCU as did Oliver's 14 assists. Cruz De La Rosa enjoyed a match-best 13 digs while
Jessica Sipili also reached double-digits with 10 0f her own.
Georgian Court heads back on the road this Wednesday with a non-conference showdown at Adelphi University. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
