Orangeburg, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's basketball squad suffered a 76-62 defeat at the hands of host-Dominican College Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition.
The Lions slip to 2-13 (1-7 CACC) while the Chargers snap a four-game slide and improve to 5-11 (4-3 CACC).
Dominican owned the advantage the entire way, winning both halves by scores of 39-27 and 37-35, respectively. A
Sayon Charles (Fr.-Staten Island, N.Y.) lay-up provided the Chargers a first-half highwater mark of 14 points (39-25) with 0:50 remaining in the initial frame.Â
The home team would raise its surplus to a game-high 17 points on three separate occasions during the second stanza.
Sean O'Reilly (Sr.-Colts Neck, N.J.) paced all players with his 15 points, all courtesy of the three-ball (5-for-9). Three Chargers culminated 14 points in the contest for Dominican, including: Charles,
Joe Clinton (Sr.-Pearl River, N.Y.)Â and
Gerrel Irvin (So.-Bay Shore, N.Y.).
Kristopher Hargraves (Jr.-Teaneck, N.J.) achieved double-digits with his 11 points.
Having missed the Lions' last two outings,
Keith Hughes returned to the floor, leading Georgian Court with 14 points in 24 minutes of action.Â
GCU moves on to host Felician University Tuesday evening in CACC play.
