Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University volleyball squad needed just 1:13 to seal its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) shutout as the Lions blanked divisional-rival Wilmington University, 3-0, Tuesday evening in the GCU Wellness Center.
The Lions (10-12, 7-2 CACC), victorious in nine of their last 12 matches, sent Wilmington packing after wins of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-22. The Wildcats drop to 7-11 (4-5 CACC) after the setback.
GCU finished the match with a hitting percentage of .300 with
Peggy Rosario driving home a team-best 11 kills.
Melanee Coleman fell just short of double-digits with nine kills of her own.
Kelsey Oliver registered 39 assists on the night whileÂ
Janelli Torres collected a match-best 10 digs.
Kelsie Blue protected the net for the victors with eight blocks on the evening.
Georgian Court stays on home turf as the Lions welcome Goldey-Beacom College Friday evening (6:00 p.m.) in another CACC divisional contest.
