Bowie, Md.- The Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad, playing its third match over the past 24 hours, ventured south to Bowie State University Sunday morning for a non-conference contest. The Lions made quick work of the home team as the visitors coasted to the 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-16, 25-9).
The triumph evens GCU's ledger at .500 with a 14-14 overall record. Bowie State slips to 3-18 overall.
The freshman duo of
Amy Bruno and
Kathryn vonKampen topped the Georgian Court offense with eight and seven kills, respectively.
Kelsey Oliver distributed 16 assists on the day while
Jackie Sweeney got in the act with 12 of her own.
Jessica Pedroza contributed six kills and a team-best seven digs in the win.
GCU achieved an impressive .364 hitting percentage in the contest, which included a first set mark of .579.
Georgian Court returns to conference play this Tuesday evening with a 7pm match at Goldey-Beacom College.
