Philadelphia, Pa.- After winning four consecutive matches, the Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad now finds itself in the midst of a two-game slide as the Lions suffered their second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division setback Saturday with a 3-1 loss at Holy Family University.
The Tigers, avenging a 3-0 loss at GCU back on Sept. 27, dropped the first set to the visiting Lions on this day (16-25) before clawing their way back and sweeping the next three sessions (25-22, 25-13, 25-22). HFU evens its mark at 14-14 (11-7 CACC) for the year while Georgian Court falls to 17-16 (13-5 CACC).
GCU's offense experienced a lackluster afternoon as
Peggy Rosario, with her 12 kills, served as the only Lion to crack double-digits in the category.
Amy Bruno and
Melanee Coleman followed with eight kills apiece.
Kelsey Oliver led the team with 34 assists while
Janelli Torres corralled a club-best 12 digs.
The postseason-bound Lions conclude the 2016 regular season this Tuesday evening with a 7:00 p.m. CACC road contest at Wilmington University.
