Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's lacrosse squad caught its first-ever glimpse of Felician University Sunday afternoon as the Lions set back the Golden Falcons, 16-3, to secure their fifth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory of the season (5-3 CACC, 5-11 overall).
Felician, in its inaugural campaign, continues to seek its first victory as the first-year program, coached by Georgian Court alums,
Angelica Gero and
Natalie Bermudez, fell to 0-9 (0-7 CACC) on the year.
The game was never in peril for GCU as the home team netted the first 14 goals of the contest.Â
Ten different Lions tallied scores in the victory, led by
Melissa Williams' four successes (two assists).
Kayanna Chandler contributed three goals and two assists while
Silvetta Agosto popped in two efforts.
Stephanie Lehner improved to 5-10 in the Georgian Court net, needing only one save over 30:00 to do so.
The Lions close out the regular season Wednesday afternoon as the team honors its seven seniors prior to its conference showdown vs. Dominican College. The Senior Day ceremony begins at 3:15 with game time set for 3:30 pm.
