Philadelphia, Pa.- The University of the Sciences men's basketball squad, after providing Georgian Court University its lone win of the season back on December 3, redeemed themselves by dismissing the visiting Lions, 68-58, Tuesday evening in Bobby Morgan Arena.
The host-Devils, winners of four of their last five contests, improve to 8-12 on the season (6-6 CACC) while the Lions slip to 1-18 (1-11 CACC).
USciences cruised into intermission with a healthy 46-28 surplus. GCU came out swinging in the second half, ultimately winning the stanza, 30-22, but the damage was already done.
Juwuan Carter drained a team-best 15 points for the Lions in the setback, followed by
Tony Ellington, Jr.'s 13-point showing.
Luka Zgonjanin fell just short of double-digits with nine points in 20 minutes off the Georgian Court bench.
Will Gregorits (Jr.-Burke, Va.) paced the Devils' offense with his 21 points, displaying a stellar 9-for-10 shooting effort from the floor.
The GCU gentlemen return home to host Bloomfield College Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in association with Georgian Court University's annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day celebration.
