Waterbury, Conn.- The Georgian Court University men's basketball squad journeyed to Connecticut Saturday afternoon where the Lions experienced a 75-51 defeat vs. Post University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
GCU (1-15, 1-7 CACC) owned an 11-10 lead after a
Juwuan Carter layup with 13:53 left in the first half. Unfortunately, a 16-11 spurt by the Eagles (7-8, 6-2 CACC) provided the home team a 37-21 advantage heading into intermission.
With the outcome never in question from this point forward, a
Matt Mareno (Jr.-San Francisco, Calif.) Â increased the Eagles' lead to a game-high 28 points (75-47) with 2:18 left in regulation.
Carter paced the Georgian Court offense with his team-leading 14 points.
Nikola Vujovic added 12 points of his own while
Keith Hughes delivered 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Tyler Desrosiers (Jr.-Agawam, Mass.) drained a game-high 18 points, including four three-balls, for the victors while dishing seven assists.
Adnan Halilovich (So.-Mali Zvornick, Serbia) provided 13 points and six boards for the Eagles.
The Lions return home to host Nyack College Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. in another CACCÂ contest.
