Box Score Lakewood, N.J.- Less than 24 hours after cruising to its first victory of the season, the Georgian Court University women's lacrosse squad welcomed Roberts Wesleyan College to campus Saturday where the visiting Redhawks cooled off the host-Lions, 17-7, in non-conference competition.

RWC soared to a quick 4-0 advantage after the first 9:26 of action before GCU's Samantha Fernandez got the home team on the board with a goal at the 17:36 mark. The 4-1 score would stand until 8:01 when the Redhawks netted the first of three swift tallies to take a 7-1 lead with 6:13 to go before intermission.

A goal from Arianna Quinlan and another from Fernandez made the score 7-3 Roberts Wesleyan heading into halftime.

The Redhawks (3-3) immediately took back control of the contest by starting the second session with five unanswered goals to take a commanding 12-3 lead with 23:54 remaining in regulation. 

Cassley Jackowski (Sr.-Lafayette, N.Y.) punished the Georgian Court defense with an 11-point game, including eight goals and three assists. Teammate Jessica Giancursio (Fr.-Penfield, N.Y.) added a hat trick of her own to go along with three assists. RWC topped the Lions with a 30-27 shot advantage while owning a 26-17 shots-on-goal margin.

Fernandez paced GCU by collecting five of the Lions' seven goals on the day, increasing the sophomore's CACC-leading total to 24 on the season.

Shannon Knapp (Sr.-Lafayette, N.Y.) corralled 10 saves in the win for Roberts Wesleyan while Amber Neumann garnered nine for GCU in 57:06.

The Lions (1-6) finally kick off conference play this Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. road game at Caldwell University.
