Philadelphia, Pa.- Chestnut Hill College, looking to avenge a 98-95 overtime defeat at Georgian Court University back on December 30, did just that Wednesday evening as the Griffins coasted to an 88-68 victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference divisional action.
CHC (4-17, 3-11 CACC) never trailed in the contest, outscoring the Lions by a 47-34 mark in the first half and controlling the second session by a 41-34 count. The Griffins grew its lead to as many as 30 points when a
Colin Flach (Fr.-Glensdale, Pa.) three-pointer put the home team ahead, 88-58, with 1:53 to play.
Four players eclipsed double-digits for the Griffins, topped by
Demetrius Isaac (Sr.-Philadelphia, Pa.) and his 26 points (seven assists).
Caleb Bowser paced the Lions with his 17 points and nine boards.
Nikola Vujovic drained 12 points in the GCU setback.
Georgian Court (5-18, 5-10 CACC) returns to action Tuesday evening with an 8:00 p.m. CACCÂ home game vs. Holy Family University. HFU bested the Lions in their last meeting, a 77-74 edging back on January 3 in Philadelphia.
