Brookville, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's lacrosse team faced off against the #14 squad in the land Tuesday afternoon as the Lions dropped a 12-4 decision to perennial power, LIU Post, in NCAA Division II regional action.

With the score tied at one apiece at the 9:26 mark of the first period, the Pioneers (3-2) fired off five unanswered goals to take a commanding 6-1 lead with 1:50 to go before intermission. A four-tally flurry that transcended the third and fourth frames put the game away as the home team went ahead by a 12-3 margin with just 5:05 left to play.

LIU Post essentially doubled up the Lions (4-5) in the shots column at 53-27 and owned a 28-12 margin with shots-on-goal. Austin Geissel, the reigning CACC Defensive Player of the Week, did all he could in the Georgian Court net with 16 saves in the effort.

Jeffrey Galatola, Patrick Quinn, Peter Rinaldi and Ryder Verdoni accounted for the Lions' scoring efforts.

GCU takes a much-needed rest before returning to action next Thursday, April 5 with a 3:30 p.m. home game vs. Molloy College.
