Brookville, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's lacrosse team faced off against the #14 squad in the land Tuesday afternoon as the Lions dropped a 12-4 decision to perennial power, LIU Post, in NCAA Division II regional action.
With the score tied at one apiece at the 9:26 mark of the first period, the Pioneers (3-2) fired off five unanswered goals to take a commanding 6-1 lead with 1:50 to go before intermission. A four-tally flurry that transcended the third and fourth frames put the game away as the home team went ahead by a 12-3 margin with just 5:05 left to play.
LIU Post essentially doubled up the Lions (4-5) in the shots column at 53-27 and owned a 28-12 margin with shots-on-goal.
Austin Geissel, the reigning CACCÂ Defensive Player of the Week, did all he could in the Georgian Court net with 16 saves in the effort.

GCU takes a much-needed rest before returning to action next Thursday, April 5 with a 3:30 p.m. home game vs. Molloy College.
