Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University welcomed Molloy College to campus Thursday afternoon as GCU finished on the wrong end of a 15-6 decision in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action.
The contest remained close throughout the first half as Molloy owned only a 7-4 advantage at intermission. The visitors controlled the second stanza, however, as the other Lions netted eight of the session's 10 goals, including a stretch of four straight in the third quarter, to coast to the non-conference win.
The victors registered healthy surpluses in numerous team categories, including: shots (47-19), shots-on-goal (29-12), ground balls (48-24) and face-offs (18-7).
Kevin Pastier,
Michael Scheuerer and
Tim Steinman tallied three goals and three assists apiece for Molloy (6-4).
Brandon Razler paced Georgian Court with his two goals and two helpers.
Ryan Toomey earned the win in net with six saves for the visitors while
Austin Geissel was tagged with the setback, compiling another double-digit saves total of 14 in the complete-game effort.
Georgian Court (4-6) next hosts Felician University Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. as the Lions participate in their first-ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Confernce (CACC) contest.
