Philadelphia, Pa. - Coming off Tuesday's playoff-clinching upset victory over #8 Jefferson, Georgian Court women's basketball looked to carry that winning feeling down to the city of Philadelphia Saturday afternoon as the Lions visited Holy Family University in yet another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference divisional showdown.
Owning a slim 50-46 lead after three quarters of action, the Lions came up lame in the final frame as the host-Tigers strutted to an 18-9 showing in the period en route to the 64-59 victory. The win counters HFU's 87-80 loss at Georgian Court back on January 22.
Elizabeth Radley (Jr.-Hainesport, N.J.) posted a 30-point effort for the victors, shooting 11-for-19 from the floor, while grabbing a team-best eight rebounds in front of the hometown fans.
Molly Masciantonio (Fr.-Morton, Pa.) added 19 points, seven assists, and boards for the Tigers.
Carna Prokic, who nailed the game-winning shot in Tuesday's thriller, comes off that night with another strong showing as the senior paced the Lions with 19 points (including five three-pointers) and seven assists.
Destiny Thompson followed with 12 points and eight rebounds in the outing.
Georgian Court (11-14, 11-6 CACC) returns to campus this Wednesday as the Lions play their final home game of the season, a 6:00 p.m. contest vs. Goldey-Beacom College. The aforementioned Prokic and Thompson, along with
Alba Herrero-Gomez and
Nijiera Addison, will be honored prior to tip-off in a special Senior Night ceremony.
