Rutherford, N.J. - A quintet of Lions closed out the 2018-19 hoops season with double-digit scoring figures in Saturday's season finale at Felician University, a 103-87 loss to the host-Golden Falcons.
Aside for a brief lead early in the first half, Felician held the lead, a surplus that peaked at 26 (79-53) with 11:40 remaining in regulation. The Lions, refusing to end the year without a fight, exploded for a 21-4 run to to cut the deficit to as low as nine (83-74) before Felician countered with its own 20-13 spurt over the final 6:50 to run out the clock.
Six total Golden Falcons eclipsed double-digits in the points column, topped by
Zamir Wright (Jr.-Newark, N.J.) with 17 over 27 minutes of action. J
ay'von Jackson (Fr.-Plainfield, N.J.) contributed a double-double effort consisting of 16 points and 11 boards in the Felician win (14-12, 12-7 CACC).
Caleb Bowser jotted his 12th outing of 20 or more points with his 22 to pace the Lions, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Sean Barksdale put down 16 in the effort while
Will Osborn drilled five of six three-point attempts for 15 points on the day.
Kristian Alexander added 14 and
Bryce Council closed the calendar with 10 points overall.
The Lions conclude the year with a 4-24 record (3-16 CACC).
