Georgian Court Dominates Dominican, 23-12, in Friday Night CACC Women's Lacrosse Action

Hillburn, N.Y.- Georgian Court University continues to cruise through Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference competition as the Lions took down Dominican, 23-12, Friday night on the road in women's lacrosse action. The win pushes GCU's season mark to 6-0 in conference play (10-4 overall).

The Lions opened the game with a 3-0 lead before proceeding to grow its surplus to an eight-goal margin (12-4) with 11:50 left in the first half. The Chargers (3-7, 3-3 CACC) would outscore Georgian Court, 4-3, in the remaining time before intermission to cut the Dominican deficit to 15-8 before the break.

GCU would not permit the Chargers to get closer than eight goals in the second stanza as the Lions outpaced DC, 8-4, to coast to the triumph.

Samantha Fernandez, who became the Lions' all-time career goal leader with four tallies earlier in the week vs. Post University, unloaded for a game-high eight scores Friday evening. For the sixth straight showing Arianna Quinlan netted three or more goals with a four-goal effort in the rout.

Nicole Barbella topped all players with 12 points, including eight helpers and four goals. Angelina Palermo also provided four tallies of her own for the Lions, complementing her four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Seeing action for the first time since March 20 vs. Mercy College, Madison Heck returned to the lineup by collecting two goals and an assist.

Amber Neumann recorded her tenth triumph in the GCU net as the senior settled a single save in 36:04.

Georgian Court remains on the road to take on Wilmington University Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
