Women's Lacrosse Prepares to Honor Four of Its Best Prior to Saturday's Regular-Season Finale

Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's lacrosse team will be honoring their four seniors during pregame ceremonies of their final regular-season home game Saturday as the Lions take on Nyack College at 11:00 a.m. This class has been an integral part of the Lions' dominance over the past four seasons in CACC play as the quartet has compiled a conference record of 37-4 (including two conference titles) during their time here in Lakewood. Let's meet our honorees!
 
Lisa Milburn #7. Milburn has been a constant for the Lions' defense during her time on the team. She has never missed a match in her career, appearing in 73 possible games. Her ability to lock down opposing attackers has earned her a selection to the All -CACC 2nd Team in both 2017 and 2018. Her leadership has been instrumental to her teammates and has allowed the squad to grow into a more confident and cohesive group. Lisa spent the fall semester of her junior year studying abroad in Italy, maintains a grade point average over a 3.80, and has been inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletic Honor Society.
 
Nicole Barbella #13. This Staten Island native can and has done it all for Georgian Court. On the field, she registered 67 goals and a team-best 164 career assists. Her 70 helpers lead all of NCAA Division II nationwide. However, Nicole's off the field resume may be even more impressive. A graphic design major with a GPA over 3.70, she is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, as well as a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society for her work in the classroom. You can see Nicole's graphic design showcase, which is currently being displayed in the Farley Center here on the GCU campus, through Saturday.
 
Samantha Fernandez #16. Fernandez will go down in the pantheon of Georgian Court lacrosse as one of the best to ever wear the royal and gold. She currently holds the record for most career goals in school history with 226 while her 282 total points is also atop the record books. Sam has been recognized by the conference with back-to-back CACC Player of the Year honors . She is also a stand-out student as an exercise science major with her success in the classroom earning her induction into a number of academic honor societies such as Chi Alpha Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa.
 
Amber Neumann #30. Neumann has been the anchor of the Lions' defensive unit for the past three seasons. Since taking the starting spot in goal prior to the 2017 season, Amber has been credited with 37 wins and has made 411 saves. A multiple All-CACC performer, including a first- team selection in 2018, Amber has been playing at a high level for years. A diligent and focused student, Amber is President of the Mathematics Club here on campus while her 3.80 GPA earned her an induction into the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Amber is also very active in the community as a youth lacrosse coach and participates in the Unified Sports Program.
