Orangeburg, N.Y. - Georgian Court University's banner campaign, a season loaded with highlights and milestones, came to a close Tuesday evening as the #4S Lions lost to #1N Dominican College, 80-50, in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament quarterfinals.
GCU's first taste of the postseason was a tough go from the outset as the Lions owned the lead for only 21 seconds. AÂ
Davon Floyd three-ball provided the visitors an early 3-2 advantage with 19:31 to go in the first half. The Chargers took over from there as the north division's top seed would run off a 40-23 spurt to close the stanza with a 42-26 cushion.
The Dominican lead would never dip below 14 points in the second half as the defending CACC champions punched their tickets to a semifinals showdown with #3N Bloomfield College Saturday at 7pm (hosted by University of the Sciences). The Bears knocked off #2S Goldey-Beacom College Tuesday night by a score of 73-54.
Daraja Rodwell (Sr.-Baldwin, N.Y.) paced the Chargers (23-6) with a game-high 20 points, followed by
Wahaad Johnson (So. Brooklyn, N.Y.)  with 17 points of his own in just 16 minutes.
