Bloomfield, N.J. -
Louis Silva found the back of the net for the fifth-straight game, and
Mathias Madersbacher connected on an eventual game-winning penalty kick, as Georgian Court University men's soccer remains undefeated with a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road win Saturday at Bloomfield College.
The first-place Lions improve their program-best season start to 7-0-2 (4-0-1 CACC) while the Bears slide to 3-6-1 (3-2 CACC).
Silva, with a conference-high 13 goals, provided the road team an initial 1-0 cushion when the senior hammered home a Bloomfield deflection at 24:04. Madersbacher drove in his third of the season late in the first half (42:53), courtesy of a costly Bloomfield infraction. Silva, who has collected a goal in eight of nine outings this fall, sits four tallies short of the Georgian Court single-season record, established by
Michael Clarke (17) in 2015.
GCU returns to the pitch Wednesday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. road contest at Goldey-Beacom College.
