Lyndhurst, N.J. - Off to its best start since debuting in 2013, Georgian Court University men's soccer continues to roll as the Lions secured a thrilling 3-2 overtime triumph at Felician University Saturday night to move to an unblemished 5-0-2 (2-0-1 CACC) on the year.
The Lions opened the affair with a seemingly solid 2-0 cushion, courtesy of tallies off the boots of
Louis Silva (42:05) and
Noah Hamouda (52:03). The Golden Falcons countered with a pair of scores of their own starting with a successful penalty kick at 66:31, followed by the equalizer with just 2:27 remaining in regulation (87:33).
It would be Silva that would strike again in the extra session as the super senior took advantage of a costly Felician infraction by slipping in his fourth successful PK effort of the year at 96:56 to seal the road win for the Lions. Silva now owns 10 overall goals on the year, ranking him amongst the nation's Division II leaders.
Gianluca Cersosimo continues to shine in the GCU net as the keeper collected a pair of saves to improve to 5-0-2 on his personal ledger. Felician falls to 2-5 (1-2 CACC) with the home loss.
Georgian Court returns home to host Chestnut Hill College Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in another CACC contest.
