Flushing, Queens, N.Y.- Taking the floor for the first time since last Wednesday's thrilling home win vs. Mercy College, Georgian Court University visited Queens College Monday night in a non-conference men's basketball showdown. The host-Knights (2-1) led from the opening tip, sending off the Lions in a 75-51 final.
Utilizing only five players on the night,
Clint Wright, Jr. topped the GCU offense with 19 points (which included five three-pointers) in 40 minutes of action. Andreas Vonfricke added 16 points in his complete-game effort while also pacing the road team with his eight rebounds for the Lions.
Shamar Chester (Fr.-Queens, N.Y.) and
William Ellis (Sr.-Valley Stream, N.Y.) carried the victors with 15 and 13 points, respectively, while
Evan Goldberg (Sr.-Wantagh, N.Y.) cleaned up with a game-high 12 boards.
Georgian Court (1-4) now preps for its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season opener this Wednesday night as the Lions visit divisional rival, Goldey-Beacom College, at 8:00 p.m.
