Lakewood, N.J. - Despite dropping a 2-0 decision in its regular-season finale Wednesday vs. Holy Family University, Georgian Court University women's soccer still managed to clinch its 15th postseason appearance of the Jim Moore era as the Lions will be the #8 seed in next week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament.
Needing Chestnut Hill College to lose its match at Wilmington University, GCU got its wish as the Griffins fell to the Wildcats, 3-1, to advance the Lions (6-11, 5-6 CACC) into the dance. Georgian Court will take on top-seed Dominican College Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Orangeburg, N.Y. The royal-and-gold lost to the Lady Chargers, 2-1, back on Sept. 25.
The spring 2021 campaign (four total games) not withstanding, the Lions have qualified for the postseason in all but one season (2005) of Coach Moore's 17-year tutelage.
