Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University's 2021 campaign came to an abrupt close Monday afternoon as the #4-seed Lions suffered a 3-0 blanking vs. #5 Holy Family University in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament quarterfinals.

Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados) set the tone immediately as the senior put the Tigers ahead just 42 seconds into the match with a breakaway tally. Gavin Rowan (Fr.-Levittown, Pa.) followed at 26:45, heading home a perfect pass off the boot of Will Stackhouse (Sr.-Philadelphia, Pa.), to provide the visitors with a 2-0 cushion at the half. 

The third-and-final blow came at 69:33 as Sean Touey (Jr.-Rockledge, Pa.) crunched the rebound of an initial Gianluca Cersosimo for his seventh score of the season.

HFU owned a slight overall shot advantage of 13-12, but the Tigers made them count with a 9-2 surplus on frame.

The Tigers, recording their second win on the road vs. GCU in less than a week after knocking off the Lions (2-1) last Tuesday, improve to 8-9-2 on the year. HFU moves on the the CACC semifinal round this Friday in Waterbury, Conn. where they will take on top-seed Post University. The #1 Eagles recorded a 2-0 win over #8 Jefferson to advance.

Georgian Court ends the season at 10-5-3.
