Kutztown, Pa. - A pair of five-goal contributions from
Madison Heck and
Riley O'Connor highlighted a 16-10 Saturday regional road win for Georgian Court University as the Lions improve to a perfect 7-0 all-time vs. Kutztown University.
Five of the contest's six goals went GCU's way as the Lions opened the affair with a 5-1 advantage. The Golden Bears were able to slice the deficit to 6-3 at the 11:06 mark of the first half, but another 5-1 run by the royal-and-blue quickly provided the road team a seven-goal cushion (11-4) with 4:06 to go before the break.
After witnessing an initial stanza chock full of scoring (12-6 GCU at intermission), both squads only mustered four tallies apiece in the second frame, not nearly enough for the home team to surpass its guest on the scoreboard.
