Hillburn, N.Y. - Ten different Lions found the back of the net Wednesday as Georgian Court University, taking the field for the first time in 11 days, coasted to a 17-8 victory at Dominican College in what counts as a non-conference men's lacrosse contest. The two squads will face off again in the Empire State for their originally-scheduled CACC showdown, May 1 at 7:00 p.m.
Owning a 9-5 lead at the 7:30 mark of the third period, GCU unleashed seven unanswered tallies to take an insurmountable 16-5 advantage with 8:08 to go in the contest.
Michael Ventresca and
PJ Saracino led the victors with a hat trick each.
Dylan Pool,
Tanner Lee, and
Lucas Iarossi enjoyed two-goal efforts while
Daniel Burnham,
Devin Bell,
Randy Collins,
Lucas Iarossi, and
Tallen Smith complemented the Lions' scoring effort with a goal apiece.
Austin Geissel, the NCAA Division II record holder for career saves, added 15 more in Wednesday's win, leaving the all-time great just 45 away from becoming the first net-minder in DII history to register 1,000 denials.
