Lakewood, N.J. - Playing its first home contest in exactly one month, Georgian Court University proved happy to be back on campus as the Lions rolled to an impressive 21-8 victory over visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Tuesday in non-conference men's lacrosse action.
GCU improves to 5-1 on the season with the triumph while the Spartans (0-4) still seek their first visit to the win column. The Lions, in six overall showdowns with STAC, own a perfect 7-0 record vs. the regional foe.
Ten different members of the royal-and -gold tallied goals in the win, led by
Michael Ventresca and his five goals and seven total points.
Daniel Burnham and
Lucas Iarossi finished the day with five points apiece (3 goals, 2 assists) while
Devin Bell (2 goals, assist),
Tanner Lee (2 goals, assist), and
P.J. Saracino (goal, 2 assists) contributed three points each.
Burnham also finished the afternoon by controlling a team-high seven ground balls in the effort. The Lions dominated with a 60-33 shot margin.
Georgian Court utilized a season-high four goalkeepers on the day, led by
Austin Geissel (5-1) and his seven saves over 45:00 of action.
The Lions stay on home turf for their next outing, a CACC conference contest vs. Post University this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
