Six Lions Collect Three or More Points Apiece as Georgian Court Wallops Wilmington on the Road, 18-8

Newark, Del. - Six different Lions recorded three or more points Thursday afternoon as Georgian Court University walloped Wilmington University, 18-8, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.

The victory moves GCU to 7-2 on the year (4-0) and extends the program's winning streak vs. CACC foes to 37-straight (including postseason). Wilmington slides to 3-4 overall (3-2 CACC).

Georgian Court opened the contest with a quick 5-0 surplus before increasing its cushion to 10-2 with 4:08 remaining in the first half. The road team edged Wilmington by three in the second stanza (8-5) to maintain its advantage and secure the CACC road win.

Heather Devaney (2 assists) and Sabrina Chandler (assist) paced the GCU offense with four goals each. Amanda Marino (2 assists), Riley O'Connor (assist) provided three goals apiece while Madison Heck (three assists) and Shaine Sauter (assist) each poured in two tallies. 

Heck topped the team with seven draw controls while tying teammate, Kelsey Naclerio, with four ground balls and equaling Marino with three caused turnovers. The Lions scorched Wilmington by a 37-14 margin in the shot column.

Alexis Hahn, the reigning CACC Goalkeeper of the Week, recorded four saves in 60:00 to earn the decision.

The Lions return home to host Post University Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. in CACC action.
