West Haven, Conn. - Georgian Court University women's soccer suffered its second-consecutive 1-0 setback to start the 2021 campaign as the Lions were kept scoreless Sunday afternoon at the University of New Haven in non-conference action. GCU dropped its opener by the same score Thursday evening vs. Pace University in a contest hosted by UNH.
A first-half goal (36:04) off the boot of
Macy Litalien (So.-Fitchburg, Mass.) provided the Chargers all the offense they would need as the home team moves to 2-0 to start the year.
The Lions (0-2) out shot New Haven, 14-8 (6-5 on net), and owned an 11-5 advantage in corner kicks, but the royal and gold could not light the scoreboard.
GCU stays on the road for its next outing as the Lions visit Molloy College Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.Â
