Caldwell, N.J. - Taking the floor for the first time in 2022 (and first time since Dec. 20), Georgian Court University traveled north Sunday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) interdivisional showdown with Garden State foe, Caldwell University.
The Lions suffered a 54-43 setback to the host-Cougars, compiling their second-lowest single-game point total in the 55-game history of the hardwood rivalry (36, 12/14/99).Â
Caldwell never trailed in the contest as the home team improves to 7-5 (2-1 CACC) on the season. GCU remains winless in conference play (0-4) as the Lions slip to 3-8 overall.
Three Cougars netted double-digit scoring figures in the box score, paced by
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Jr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) and her game-high 16 points.
Paula Dits (Sr.-Alicante, Spain) followed with 13 points while
Shanice Graves (Gr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) authored a masterpiece consisting of 14 rebounds, 10 points, and a quintet of assists and thefts in the victory.
Tian Addison played all 40 minutes for the royal-and-gold, collecting 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a pair of rejections.
Nerea Brajac cleared the glass of nine boards in 27 total minutes for the Lions.
Georgian Court remains on the road to take on Jefferson Wednesday afternoon (5:00 p.m.) in a CACC divisional matchup.
