Waterbury, Conn. - In a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball contest bumped up a day due to impending snow in the northeast, Post University put the Lions on ice Friday afternoon with a 79-67 home win over its inter-divisional foe.
After trading surpluses for a majority of the first period of play, the Eagles (11-4, 5-2 CACC)Â took a lead they would not relinquish when a pair of free throws from
Tai Pagan (So.-New London, Conn.) provided Post with a 20-18 lead at the 3:00 mark of the frame.Â
The hosts closed out the first half with a comfortable 12-point cushion at 45-32 and never saw its lead dip below double-digits the rest of the way, growing its advantage to a game-high 21 points (69-48) with 5:52 remaining.
Sha'Raya Haines (Jr.-Springfield, Mass.), shooting 8-of-19 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the charity stripe, topped all players with 27 points in the triumph. The aforementioned Pagan finished a rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards and 16 points while
